DESCRIPTION
Armco crash barriers are plain and unrecognized road furniture that most people don't even notice them. And many people probably simply think of them as humble guard rail products for roads. However, Armco crash barriers on roadside are something beyond your imagination.
The groove of W section is designed to provide a sliding rail for the vehicle's bumper, which helps keep the vehicle from crossing over the barrier when collision happen. Armco crash barriers keep vehicle contained and should never make vehicle occupants injured.
Armco crash barrier should only be installed when rush out of the roadbed is potentially more hazardous than collide with the barrier. If there is no barrier installed, the driver may be able to stop the car and even drive the car back to the road without injury. Armco crash barriers are installed where the vehicle might fall down to a slope or hit something very tough, such as an advertising pole, a stone, or even a farmer's house.
There are several types of Armco crash barriers, each type is designed to relevant containment and redirection class, and speed limitation. The types of Armco crash barrier mainly depend on material and profile, and bigger in size and thickness is absolutely not necessarily better because stronger barrier without corresponding bumper design may damage even harder.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. DESCRIPTIONOur Highway Guardrail meet AASHTO M180 Class A, Class B, Type I and Type II, and SGS Test Report showing the goods meeting AASHTO M180 (Standard Specification for Corrugated Sheet Steel Beams for Highway Guardrail) for each order is available upon request.
Classification, materials, mechanical properties, coating requirements and ordering information of highway guardrail are accurately described and designated according to AASHTO M180.2. Type I-Zinc coated, 550 g/m2 (1.80 oz/ft2) minimum single-spot.
Type II-Zinc coated, 1100 g/m2 (3.60 oz/ft2) minimum single-spot.
Type III-Beams to be painted.

| Mechanical properties: The mechanical properties of the base metal shall conform to the following requirements: |
Beams and transition sections:
Yield Point, minimum, 345 MPa (50000 psi);
Tensile Strength, minimum 483 MPa (70000 psi); and
Elongation, in 50 mm (2 in.), minimum, 12 percent. |
End and buffer sections:
Yield Point, minimum, 227 MPa (33000 psi); and
Tensile Strength, minimum 310 MPa (45000 psi). |
Type I and Type II beams:
The beams may be galvanized before or after fabrication.
The mass of coating shall conform to the requirements prescribed in Table 1 for the types specified.
